Photographing a friend recently I was asked to capture some natural breastfeeding portraits. 

As a new mum myself I love the thought of a beautiful, natural and special moment captured between myself and my baby. Low and behold all the photos I have of this bonding and nurturing moment I look tired, unkept and definitely not in the mood to be photographed! 

I think this is such a special part of motherhood that easily gets forgotten after the breastfeeding journey has ended and I would love to be able to look back on this time with a beautiful photograph. My baby is now 6 months old and although still breastfeeding I wish I had felt the urge to capture this moment much sooner. 

I would love to raise the subject of this with my clients and gently encourage them to be brave enough to have this type of portrait taken, even if only for their personal collection. Just keep it for you and your baby to remember your special bond and connection, especially as we all know they grow so very quickly!!
